Boy! Will.I.Am is thinking ahead making sure the Black Eyed Peas will remain a band should Fergie decide the solo route is more for her. She is seeing much success with her first album away from the group and Will.I.Am has her replacement on the back burner should Fergie ever officially quit. He collaborated with British pop star Cheryl Cole on Heartbreaker and the pair really hit it off.
“If we didn’t (have) Fergie, she (Cole) would be in the Peas that’s how cool she is.”

Will was asked a theoretical question, Fergie is still recording with them. I can not see that replacement. Fergie say what you want about her, she is really the right person with her tough persona on stage with them. Cheryl is too girly and would not stand out with the guys. Fergie is not leaving the group. She just said they are doing an album together.
