December 10, 2007 -- INDIANAPOLIS - Brooklyn-born NBA star Jamaal Tinsley was shot at early yesterday, landing him in hot water with his team for his late night shenanigans.

The Indiana Pacers guard and several companions were targeted in the gunfire, which wounded the team's equipment manager outside a downtown hotel, police said.

It was Tinsley's third late-night incident in 14 months.

He will meet today with team President Larry Bird and coach Jim O'Brien, according to the Pacers' Web site.

"This is something we can't just put right behind us and walk away from," Bird told Pacers.com. "It's something we'll have to discuss. I don't know how long it'll take, and we'll continue to talk about it. We have to make a change, there's no question about it."

The Bed-Stuy native was present when ex-teammate Stephen Jackson fired into the air before he was hit by a car outside an Indianapolis club in 2006.

Tinsley and another Pacers player, Marquis Daniels, face charges stemming from a bar fight in February.
